From an Ayurvedic perspective, the 40 days after the birth of a baby are very crucial for the mother. It is known as the Sutika period - it is a time for rebuilding, for nurturing the body, realigning its natural energies.

Traditionally a woman did not leave the doors of her home during this time. She rested and cared for her child and loved ones while others cleaned and cooked. A special diet was provided, herbs were given as required and she and her child were massaged everyday.

Unfortunately this is difficult to achieve in our present day society, yet with a certain amount of flexibility, it is possible to experience the essence of the Sutika period to the benefit of mother and child.

Allow us at Clarence Natural Therapies to support you during this time. We will come to your home and provide treatments, herbs and advice to rebuild and realign and give you the strength and vitality needed to fulfill your greatest role - motherhood.

This programme includes:

5 Ayurvedic Massages (Abhyanga) in your own home

Abhyanga is a massage that improves blood and lymphatic flow, loosens tight muscles, cleanses and vitalises the internal organs and calms the mind and nervous system, soothing away anxieties and suppressed emotions. Warm herbal oils are applied to the body with rhythmical and soothing strokes, bringing balance to the body and mind.

A Counselling session if desired or another Ayurvedic Massage

There are times of great excitement, joy and anticipation after the birth of a child. But parents can also face many challenges and counselling can be of great support to parents, both new and experienced, during this time of their lives.

A 1 Day Workshop

$100 of Herbs and and Oils

Structure of programme

A 6 week block (1 treatment / session a week in your own home).

Cost of programme

$780 (if in Grafton). Extra costs applicable if there is travel involved.

$700 if not attending the workshop.
$220 deposit followed by 5 payments of $112 inclusive of the workshop.
$220 deposit with 5 payments of $96.

This comprehensive support would normally cost $940. But if you enrol in the programme, the savings are considerable (saving $160).
